A beautiful earring set from our collection of Native American jewelry from Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. They are handmade in sterling silver by Eldrick Seowtewa. It is an inlay style earring set made with turquoise stones.
Zuni jewelers are well known for their exacting lapidary work that celebrates the stones and shells in mosaic designs. Stone setting techniques include cluster work, needlepoint, channel and mosaic inlay. Silver was introduced in their jewelry style around the 1870βs, after silversmith work was learned from Navajos. Turquoise, mother of pearl, spiny oyster shells, lapis, coral, onyx and man-made opal are some of the materials used in the outstanding Zuni jewelry. Zuni Pueblo is located in New Mexico near the Arizona border.
