Handwoven by highly skilled weavers, the cooperative of 171 members run exclusively by native Mayan women have been making this and other beautiful scarves since the 1980s. The process begins by sorting, dyeing, washing and drying the bamboo chenille yarn. The artists then hand select the colors for the scarves. Each scarf is then handwoven using the centuries old technique of backstrap loom weaving.

You will receive a handwoven scarf made with the same yarn colors selected by the weaver and shown in the photos. The dying process of the yarn makes a one-of-a-kind scarf, yet similar looking because they are woven with the same yarn.

Our luxuriantly plush scarves make for an elegant accessory to dress up any outfit. They are easily machine washable and will retain their beautiful array of colors.
