Gorgeous and high quality handmade Chenille scarf. Our scarves are suitable for wearing outdoors and indoors. Contrary to certain types of wool, these scarves are comfortable and not itchy. They are colorfast and the chenille will not rub off onto your clothing.

The process of making a scarf is labor intensive. Each scarf is made on a traditional backstrap loom, a weaving technique that might take a full day of work depending on the skills of the weaver. The chenille used here is made from sustainably-grown organic bamboo thread.

These are fair trade scarves and hand woven by a cooperative of Mayan weavers from the highlands of Guatemala, near a lake called Atitlan.
